submit a proposal for the ESEH conference Bristol 2021

Dear colleagues and friends,

this is a warm invitation to submit a proposal for the European Society for Environmental History Conference in 2021. The proposals can be both in-person or virtual (due to the uncertainty of the pandemic situation).  We are really looking for a conference that brings the ESEH in conversation with other disciplines and with the challenges of the present socio-ecological crisis.  As we have written in our call:
We embrace history that matters and our discipline’s ability to create ‘useable pasts’ for unusual times. This conference moves from the premise of an entangled world: first and foremost enmeshed in a global pandemic, a shared ecological crisis and climate catastrophe, as well as cultural connections from past colonial and postcolonial histories.   

I invite you to participate in our effort to think together about: Same planet, different worlds: environmental histories imagining anew
I would also much appreciate if you can help to spread the call in your networks.
